The gabion cages are mechanically woven from high-corrosion-resistant, high-tensile, and ductile low-carbon steel wire, or the aforementioned wire coated with PVC. The box-like structures made from this mesh are known as stone笼mesh boxes. The diameter of the low-carbon steel wire used complies with ASTM and EN standards and varies according to engineering design requirements, generally ranging from 2.0 to 4.0 mm. The tensile strength of the stone笼mesh wire is not less than 38 kg/m², the weight of the metallic coating is usually above 245 g/m², and the diameter of the edge line of the stone笼mesh sheet is generally larger than that of the wire diameter. The length of the double-strand twisted portion must not be less than 50 mm to ensure that the metallic and PVC coatings of the twisted wire are not damaged.

The length of the double-strand braiding section must not be less than 50mm to ensure that the metallic coating and PVC coating on the wire in the braiding section remain undamaged.

The mesh range is between 2mm to 4mm.

2. The edge wire is generally larger than the mesh wire, 0.5-1.0mm thicker than the mesh wire.

3. Wires are generally smaller than mesh wires, with 2.2mm being the most common size.

Electroplated zinc. Zinc coating of 10g/m². Poor corrosion resistance.

2. Hot-dip galvanized. The zinc coating can reach up to 300g/m². Strong corrosion resistance.

3. Galfan (Aluminum-Zinc Alloy). It is available in two types of materials: Zinc-5% Aluminum-Mixed Rare Earth Alloy Wire and Zinc-10% Aluminum Mixed Rare Earth Alloy Wire.

4. PVC Coated. The coating thickness typically covers 1.0mm, for example: after coating 2.7mm becomes 3.7mm. Strong corrosion resistance.
