Lead wire gabions are mechanically woven from high corrosion-resistant, high-tensile, and ductile low-carbon steel wire, or wire coated with PVC. The box-like structures made from this mesh are known as stone笼 mesh boxes. The diameter of the low-carbon steel wire used complies with ASTM and EN standards and varies according to engineering design requirements, generally ranging from 2.0 to 4.0 mm. The tensile strength of the stone笼 mesh wire should not be less than 38 kg/m², the weight of the metal coating is usually above 245 g/m², and the diameter of the edge line of the stone笼 mesh panel should generally be larger than the diameter of the wire. The length of the double-strand twisted section must not be less than 50 mm to ensure that the metal and PVC coatings of the twisted wire are not damaged.

The length of the double-strand braiding section must not be less than 50mm to ensure the metallic coating and PVC coating of the wires in the braiding section are not damaged.

(2) Wire Diameter: The stone笼 net is divided into three types of wire diameters—mesh wire, edge wire, and binding wire

The mesh range is from 2mm to 4mm.

2. Edge wire is typically larger than mesh wire, 0.5-1.0mm thicker than mesh wire.

3. The binding wire is generally smaller than the mesh wire, with 2.2mm being the most common size.

(4) Surface Treatment

Electroplated zinc. Zinc coating is 10g/m². Poor corrosion resistance.

2. Hot-dipped galvanized. The zinc coating can reach up to 300g/m² with strong corrosion resistance.

3. Galfan (zinc-aluminum alloy). This is available in two types of materials: zinc-5% aluminum-mixed rare earth alloy wire and zinc-10% aluminum-mixed rare earth alloy wire.

4. PVC Coated. The coating thickness typically covers 1.0mm, for instance: after coating, a 2.7mm thickness becomes 3.7mm.
