The fixed part of the hinge is secured to the base plate with anchor bolts, while the movable part is connected to the gate leaf structure with bolts, bearing the total water pressure, the weight of the gate leaf, and the closing force during the opening process, making it a critical component for the opening and closing of the flip bucket sluice.

The maximum load of the hinge should occur when the gate is just opened. This gate withstands water pressure, the force to open the gate, and the weight of the gate itself, all of which are supported by the hinge. Each gate opening has multiple hinges, which are distributed at different positions based on the width of the opening.

The gate opening utilizes hydraulic lifting and closing machines at both ends. The hydraulic gate machine features a horizontal hinge support structure, with bronze-based self-lubricating bearings for the support hinges. The oil rod ends are equipped with lubricated joint bearings. The oscillating view point along the radial center line of the joint bearings compensates for the installation errors between the lifting and closing machines, the gate opening, and its embedded components. The joint bearings are equipped with excellent sealing. One end of the lifting and closing machine is connected to the bottom shaft arm, driven by the piston rod of the lifting and closing machine to complete the opening and closing of the gate body.
