Summer Lighting Supplement
Summer overcast can greatly affect plants; supplemental lighting is essential. If it's sunny, with longer daylight hours, there's no need for additional lighting.
2. Winter daylight supplement method when it's sunny during the day:
To retain warmth in winter, greenhouses typically uncover the straw mats at 9 AM and then cover them back up around 3:30 PM, resulting in only about seven and a half hours of sunlight exposure per day. This is far from sufficient, so additional lighting should be provided to meet the plants' light requirements on top of natural sunlight.
3. On overcast days, even when the sky is bright, supplementary lighting is necessary when there is no sun.
Weak light filtering through the clouds is far from sufficient for the photosynthesis of plants. Therefore, supplemental lighting is necessary in cloudy, foggy, rainy, or snowy weather.
4. The use of energy-saving plant growth lamps for supplementary lighting has yielded significant results.
The brightness we perceive as animals has little effect on plant growth; the light we feel is not the one that plants need to attract, yet its impact is strikingly clear.
5. Using ordinary light bulbs as a supplemental lighting tool for plants is unscientific.
Incandescent bulbs are effective for plant lighting, but their impact is minimal because they emit very little useful light.
