1. Planning and Designing

1.1 A successful seawater desalination system hinges on the market definition, as production needs arise from market demand. The seawater desalination process is the main production line, playing a decisive role in the planning of the seawater desalination production system. Generally, the process flow can be determined based on the fineness modulus of the material source, silt content, broken shell content, and other factors.

1.2 The site for the desalination production line of sea sand should meet the engineering geological conditions required for construction and the material sources needed for production. The size of the pier and the reserve of resources directly affect the scale of production and the size of investment. The roads on the site should be paved, temporary roads made from waste materials should not be used for a long time, and warning signs should be set at road bends; the drainage on the site should be designed in an organized manner, and rainwater should be as much as possible channeled through culverts. When open ditches are used for drainage, the debris in the ditches should be cleared promptly.

2. Architectural Design Proposal

2.1 The architectural design of the seawater desalination production line should be as simple as possible while meeting process requirements and environmental protection standards. Considering the actual conditions, each production workshop and auxiliary building should ensure good ventilation. In light of environmental protection and labor needs, the structures should predominantly be enclosed, equipped with necessary ventilation and lighting facilities.

2.2 Due to the expansion of modern industries and the increase in labor costs, desalination production lines should adopt more information-based production management to reduce labor costs and losses during the production process. This includes the use of automatic optimization systems for production lines, intelligent monitoring of equipment operation status, and intelligent monitoring of production line operations.

3. Structural Design

Adherence to the principles of structural design for practicality, applicability, and economy. Aim for simple design and convenient construction while meeting process requirements.

3.1 From the perspectives of structural design stability and cost-effectiveness

The Feasibility Report for the Seawater Desalination Project is an indispensable document. However, some clients believe that this task can be omitted to reduce investment and construction time. In fact, the geological report at the construction site serves as the basis for fundamental design and is a prerequisite for potential cost savings. In the spirit of engineering and cost-saving principles, this work should be meticulously completed by a qualified surveying unit.

3.2 Selection of Sea Sand Desalination Production Line Equipment

The淡化sea sand using the desalination equipment must meet the GB/T-14684-2011 Construction Sand and JG/Y494-2016 Sea Sand Purification standards, with the core chloride ion index not exceeding 0.003% (by chloride ion mass). The main equipment used includes:Feeding equipment, screening equipment, desalination reagent equipment, reaction vessels, reaction chambers, catalytic equipment, sand washers, dewatering equipment, conveying equipment.

(1) Feeding Equipment - The feeding equipment mainly includes automatic feeding bins and feeding conveyors.

(2) Screening Equipment - Currently, screening equipment is mainly categorized into vibration screens and drum screens. Generally, vibration screens are more commonly used. Vibration screens are further divided into: 1. Circular vibration screen 2. Linear vibration screen 3. Horizontal vibration screen (also known as elliptical vibration screen), with the horizontal vibration screen being more superior.

(3) Desalination Reactor Equipment - The desalination reactor equipment is a device utilizing electrochemical reactions, primarily using electricity and deionized water (or distilled water) as raw materials, without adding any other chemicals.

(4) Reactor Vessel - The reactor vessel is crafted from specialized steel, boasting corrosion and ionization resistance properties.

(5) Reaction Vessel - The reaction vessel is made of stainless steel and, in addition to having the physical characteristic of backflushing with sea sand, also possesses the property of sound wave reflection.

(6) Catalyst Equipment – The catalyst equipment can effectively enhance the reduction potential of the reagent matrix, typically utilizing specific photoquantum catalysis.

(7) Sand Washing Machine - The sand washing machine is used to remove chloride salts from the seawater after reaction. It generally comes in three types: 1. Chain Bucket Sand Washing Machine, 2. Wheel Sand Washing Machine, and 3. Spiral Sand Washing Machine. The chain bucket sand washing machine offers high cost-performance, while the wheel sand washing machine requires the use of a spiral machine.

(8) Dewatering Equipment is primarily used for removing moisture from finished sand, facilitating sea and urban road transportation.

(9) Finished Product Conveying Equipment is mainly divided into climbing belt conveyors and finished sand horizontal shifting and stacking conveyors.
