When purchasing exhaust treatment equipment, people often face the challenge of choosing from a variety of options without knowing how to select the right product for their needs. Generally, when selecting environmental protection equipment, one should consider the performance and cost of the equipment, and during the process of understanding the products, it's important to recognize the differences between them.
The photochemical oxidizer and the activated carbon filter are both air pollution treatment devices, particularly effective for organic waste gas treatment. Their main differences lie in the principles and costs involved.
Principally
The photo-oxidation air purifier breaks down the molecular bonds of malodorous gases using ultraviolet beams, destroys the nucleic acids of bacteria, and then achieves deodorization and bacterial elimination through ozone oxidation reactions.
The activated carbon filter consists of a housing and adsorption units (activated carbon) filled within. The activated carbon structure is a porous carbon with numerous tiny pores—capillaries, which possess strong adsorption capabilities. The high specific surface area of the carbon particles allows for purification when exhaust gas encounters the capillaries.
Cost Variations in Utilization
The air volume of the photo catalytic air purifier varies, as does the number of UV lamps inside. The larger the air volume of the activated carbon filter, the bigger the equipment size, and the amount of activated carbon inside will also differ, as will the cost.
The lifespan of the UV lamps in photo-oxidation waste gas purifiers is generally around 8,000 to 10,000 hours. However, the lifespan can vary due to different UV lamp manufacturers and equipment designs across various manufacturers.
For instance, taking the photo-catalytic oxidant exhaust gas purifier and the granular activated carbon filter as examples, the market price for a photo-decomposition purifier with a 4000 CFM capacity is approximately 7700 yuan per unit, and for a granular activated carbon filter with a 4000 CFM capacity, it is approximately 2500 yuan per unit. These represent the initial costs.
The photo catalytic air purifier requires a UV lamp replacement approximately every 3.4 years, given a daily usage of 8 hours and a lamp lifespan of 10,000 hours.
The replacement time for activated carbon filters is generally around 3 months, with the filters needing to be replaced 13.6 times over 3.4 years.
After 3.4 years of use, the cost calculations are as follows: 6 units of photo-decomposition purifiers with a 4000 CFM capacity, 6 * 200 yuan/unit = 1200 yuan, and replacing the activated carbon filter once costs 500 yuan, totaling 500 * 13.6 = 6800 yuan.
Based on the above calculations, it's evident that the total cost of both before and after usage is roughly the same; however, the photo catalytic oxidant waste gas purifier does not require frequent replacement, thereby saving on the cost of manual carbon change.
