After purchasing and installing the fence, many might think we can neglect its protection, as the galvanized steel material is highly resistant to corrosion and rust. However, this is a significant misconception. I'll explain why galvanized steel fences do not rust: it's due to their multi-layered protection, including the zinc layer and polyurethane coating. If you remove both these protective layers, you'll find that the galvanized steel balcony railing will also rust.
So after we install the fence and railing, we still need to provide some protection for it. For instance, we apply a film coating to all of them before shipment. The film is there to prevent surface scratches during installation, much like the principle of waxing and sealing on cars.
