Motorcycle guards, also known as bumpers or collision bars, primarily serve to protect both the vehicle and the rider. Therefore, installing guards on motorcycles is highly necessary from this perspective.

However, in actual use, we find that installing a motorcycle fairing can have some drawbacks, such as affecting the vehicle's aesthetics, especially on some sports models, where the addition of protective gear can appear more awkward. Thus, in many sports models, we don't see the presence of such gear. Moreover, for riders with aggressive driving needs who install protective devices, it can also affect control, and if not installed properly, it can pose safety hazards. Therefore, some riders are fundamentally against using these protective devices.

In terms of the actual role of motorcycle bumpers, having a well-designed vehicle guard, with no installation issues, is already better than nothing, and in special circumstances, the effect can be dramatically different. A motorcycle bumper or guard is a mechanical protective device that, through its strength and support, prevents injuries to individuals due to crushing or scraping after a vehicle overturns, and also serves to protect the vehicle's appearance. Therefore, in some late-model special vehicle types, such as the AD, which is a typical example due to its larger size and unique usage scenarios, one might find that the stock guards are provided to prevent overturns, thereby protecting both the vehicle and the occupants.

Although the protective guard for motorbikes is an illegal modification, it can serve as a protector for riders in daily rides. In case of a fall, the guard can also act as a cushion and prevent the bike from falling, being worn down, or scratched. Therefore, the proper installation of a guard is still necessary. When choosing a guard, ensure high quality and install it in the correct position to provide protection for both the rider and the bike itself. However, if a poor-quality guard, or a "fake handle," is installed, it offers no protection during critical moments! When installing the guard, maintain a safe distance between the kW and the motorbike, as proper installation is crucial for its function. Choose a guard that fits the size of the bike; an improper fit can pose safety risks during riding. A well-installed guard with the right dimensions is a very safe and convenient practical device in daily driving. But as it is an illegal modification, remember to remove the guard before the annual inspection to pass the test. If you drive directly to the inspection without removing it, it will be deemed不合格.
