What's the difference between vertical and horizontal PPH tanks?
1. Storage Space Usage: Vertical tanks occupy less land area compared to horizontal tanks.
2. Wind Load Considerations: Due to the height of vertical storage tanks, wind loads need to be taken into account, whereas horizontal storage tanks do not require wind load consideration.
3. In terms of bending moment: Consider the bending moment generated by the self-weight of horizontal storage tanks; vertical storage tanks are not taken into account.
4. In terms of liquid column hydrostatic pressure: for horizontal storage tanks, the liquid level is low, and the liquid column hydrostatic pressure can be ignored; for vertical storage tanks, the liquid level is high, and the liquid column hydrostatic pressure cannot be ignored.
5. Capacity: Vertical storage tanks are suitable for small-scale production, while horizontal storage tanks are ideal for large-scale production. Tanks over 50m² are considered large, mostly vertical; tanks under 50m² are small, generally horizontal.
