Korean Patent Application:

The term for entering the national phase: 31 months from the priority date or the filing date of the international application, non-extendable.

2. Review Process: Submission of Application → Form Review → Automatic Publication (automatically published 18 months from the application date or priority date or upon applicant's request within 18 months from the application date) → Substantive Examination (mandatory within 3 years from the application date) → Authorization Announcement

3. Examination System: Substantive Examination System (Applicants must file a request for substantive examination within 5 years from the date of application (or the international application date). If the applicant fails to file a request for substantive examination within the aforementioned period, the patent application will be deemed withdrawn.)

4. Review Period: 2-3 years; approximately 13-17 months after the submission of a substantive review to receive a review opinion or authorization notice once.

5. Patent Term: 20 years from the date of application

6. Annual Fee Payment: An annual fee is required starting from the 4th year after registration.
