Glass fiber fabrics are more commonly used in hand-laid processes. Glass fiber reinforced materials, such as grid cloths, are primarily used as structural materials in ship hulls, storage tanks, cooling towers, vessels, vehicles, tanker trucks, and buildings. In the industrial sector, glass fiber fabrics are mainly used for insulation, fire prevention, and flame retardancy. The material absorbs a significant amount of heat when exposed to flames and can prevent the spread of fire and隔绝 air.
1. By composition: mainly medium alkali, alkali-free, and high alkali (which are classifications of the alkali metal oxides in glass fiber). Of course, there are also classifications based on other components, but there are too many varieties to list them all.
2. By manufacturing process: crucible drawing and pool furnace drawing.
3. By type: includes blended yarn, direct yarn, jet yarn, etc.
Additionally, the distinction is made based on the single fiber diameter, TEX count, and type of sizing agent.
The classification of glass fiber fabric is similar to that of fiber yarns, including weaving techniques, weight per square meter, and width, among others.
