Powdered activated carbon's carbonization material needs to be added into the activation tube of the activation furnace at regular intervals. It is then introduced to the reaction with superheated steam, where the carbon is gradually dried and heated by the steam, compensating for the carbonization, followed by activation. Finally, after cooling, it is discharged through the lower discharge port after a certain period of time. Below is an explanation:
Steam is first superheated to 300-400 degrees Celsius in the preheating chamber and then sent into the activated tube as the activating medium. It flows in parallel with the carbon from top to bottom, continuously contacting the carbon particles during the process and initiating a series of activation reactions. At the lower part of the activation tube, it transforms into water gas. The water gas, along with powdered activated carbon, is separated in the separator section tube after cooling. It is then transported to the combustion chamber outside the lower part of the activation tube through the gas pipe and burned. The combustion is enhanced by drawing in air through a secondary air pipe to meet the required combustion needs. The heat generated from this combustion is used to maintain the furnace temperature, ensuring the continuous and uninterrupted progression of the activation reactions.
After activation, the charcoal is cooled and conveyed to a ball mill for crushing. The activated material is吸入 the ball mill using the suction force of the exhaust fan, while larger sand and stone impurities are left on the conveyor belt and removed. The finely crushed charcoal is then drawn into a separator by air, and the coarse charcoal is returned to the ball mill for further crushing. The qualified charcoal is sent to a cyclone separator for separation. The gas emitted from the cyclone separator is collected by a bag filter to trap fine charcoal dust before being discharged. The charcoal collected from the cyclone separator and bag filter can be sold directly as finished product. If the customer requires a higher purity of powdered activated carbon, the collected activated carbon must undergo acid washing, water rinsing, and drying to remove iron salts and ash, among other impurities. After drying, the charcoal has a moisture content of about 50% and can be sold as wet powdered activated carbon. To produce dry activated carbon, the charcoal must be further dried to reduce the moisture content to about 10%, which is the finished product of dry activated carbon.
Powdered activated carbon steam activation process, powdered activated carbon has a wide range of uses and is in high demand in the market. The material and production process of powdered activated carbon determine its own production and cost, as well as its ability to secure more sales orders in the market competition. The raw material charcoal is sent to the feed hopper of the double-roller press, crushed by the double-roller press in two stages, and then selected by a vibration screen. Carbon particles between 3-30 mm are chosen as the activation material. Too coarse particles are returned for further crushing, while too fine particles can be used as material for producing granular activated carbon.
