Recycling Paint Manufacturer Discusses Common Paint Problem Solutions
2025-03-15
1. Paint Peeling: This may be due to an overly smooth surface or insufficient soda ash treatment, or poor paint quality, which can also cause the paint to peel off after application. For small areas of peeling, first sand down the peeled-off section using sandpaper, and then repaint. For large areas of peeling, consider whether the soda ash was not properly cleaned or the paint quality is an issue. In such cases, it may be necessary to re-treat with soda ash or purchase high-quality paint, followed by repainting.
2. Paint Bubbling: Firstly, puncture the bubbles. If water comes out, it indicates moisture has seeped beneath or behind the paint layer. With the sun's heat, the water evaporates into steam, causing the paint to bubble up. At this point, use a hot air gun to remove the bubbled paint, allow the product to dry naturally, apply a primer, and finally repaint the entire repaired area.
3. Cracking: This situation often requires the removal of the paint using a chemical paint stripper or a hot air gun, followed by repainting. If the crack is not extensive, sandpaper can be used to sand down the paint on the cracked area, smooth the surface, and then repaint.
4. Paint Runoff - Applying too thick a coat of paint can cause runs. If the paint is still wet, you can use the spray gun to open it up. If the paint has started to dry, wait for it to dry completely, then sand the surface smooth with sandpaper, clean the surface thoroughly, wipe it clean with a damp cloth, and repaint.
5. Lack of Luster: The reason for the loss of shine is the absence of primer, or applying paint directly onto an un-dried primer layer. This results in the paint not absorbing the shine and losing its luster. Some quality issues with glossy paints can also be a cause. The solution is to sand off the old paint using a dual-purpose sandpaper, brush away the dust from sanding, wipe the surface clean with a damp cloth, and then repaint once the surface is completely dry. Be particularly careful when painting in low-temperature environments, as the paint film can also lose its shine after drying.
6. White Discoloration: In conditions of low temperatures or high humidity, the painted surface may easily turn white. To address this, we recommend adding a white prevention agent and increasing the temperature in the paint booth while reducing humidity.
7. Particle Coating: Post-painting, products exhibit particle formation. The primary cause is dust in the paint booth environment; it is crucial to maintain cleanliness in the paint booth. Additionally, excessive pressure can cause paint to rebound onto the product surface, creating particles. To address the cleanliness issue, ensure the paint booth is dust-free. To resolve the pressure issue, adjust the pressure to between 0.4-0.6 MPa.
8. The paint surface of the orange peel product forms an uneven texture similar to the surface of an orange peel, which is due to: 1) poor leveling of the paint; 2) too rapid curing of the paint; 3) moisture in the air.
