Analysis of Deficiencies in Check Valves

Check valves, also known as cut-off valves, are a type of forced-sealing valve. Therefore, when the valve is closed, pressure must be applied to the valve disc to ensure a tight seal without leakage. As the medium enters the valve from below the valve disc, the resistance that the operating force must overcome includes the friction between the valve stem and the packing material, as well as the thrust generated by the medium's pressure. The force required to close the valve is greater than the force to open it, so the diameter of the valve stem must be larger to prevent the stem from bending.

The shut-off valve boasts the following advantages:

1、Simple structure, easy to manufacture and maintain.

2、Work schedule compact, with short opening and closing times.

3、Good sealing performance, low friction between sealing surfaces, and long service life.

Dead-end valves have the following drawbacks:

1、.High fluid resistance requires greater force for opening and closing.

2、Not suitable for media with granules, high viscosity, and prone to coking.

3、Poor performance tuning.
