Installation Precautions for Butterfly Valves

Installation Environment: Butterfly valves can be used both indoors and outdoors. However, in corrosive media and environments prone to rust, appropriate material combinations must be used. For special operating conditions, please consult Zhongzhi Valves.

Location: Must be installed in a location that is safe for operation and easy to maintain, inspect, and repair.

Surrounding Environment: Temperature -20℃ to +70℃, humidity below 90% RH. Prior to installation, check the valve for compliance with operational requirements based on the label markings on the valve. Note: Butterfly valves do not have the ability to withstand high differential pressure; do not open or keep the butterfly valve in operation under high differential pressure.

Before installation, please remove any debris and oxidation scale from the piping. During installation, ensure that the medium flow direction matches the arrow indicated on the valve body.

Align the piping center forward and backward, ensuring the flange interfaces are parallel, and tighten the screws evenly. Be cautious not to generate excessive piping stress on the cylinder control valve due to pneumatic butterfly valves. Depending on the size and weight of the cylinder control valve, provide appropriate support and fixation to the piping or the body.

Maintenance Precautions

Routine Inspections: Check for leaks, abnormal noises, vibrations, etc.

Regular Inspections: Regularly check for leaks, rust, and jamming in valves and other system components, and perform maintenance, cleaning, dust removal, and stain removal as needed.

Decomposition Inspection: Valves should undergo a regular disassembly and inspection, during which components should be re-rinsed, foreign objects, stains, and rust spots should be removed, worn or damaged gaskets and fillers should be replaced, and the sealing surfaces should be corrected. After the inspection, the valves must be re-tested with water pressure, and only upon passing the test can they be reused.

If a leakage of fluid is detected during the check of the pneumatic butterfly valve, do not touch or approach the cylinder control valve by hand until the safety has been confirmed.
