Centrifugal fans are machines currently used on the market for ventilation, dust extraction, and refrigeration, reducing the harmful effects of air circulation within buildings. All materials used in the centrifugal fan, including the housing, impeller, and inlet material, are its main components. Therefore, there are many types involved. To accommodate different working conditions and process standards, the corresponding materials and models also vary.
One type is carbon steel, a material commonly used for centrifugal fans, referring to iron-carbon alloy steel with a carbon content below 2.11%. This material is characterized by its ease of processing, affordability, and suitability for centrifugal fans that operate at room temperature without smoke, dust, or corrosion for most substances.
Another primary material is FRP, also known as glass fiber reinforced plastic, a common material for corrosion-resistant centrifugal fans. These materials boast excellent corrosion resistance, withstanding the erosion of various acids, bases, and salts. In the chemical industry, many gas treatments require glass fiber reinforced plastic centrifugal fans. Stainless steel is also a common primary material for centrifugal fans, but it actually encompasses over 100 different actual materials, including Austenitic, Martensitic, Ferritic, and Duplex stainless steel types. It is a standard material for both corrosion-resistant and high-temperature centrifugal fans, offering both corrosion resistance and heat resistance.
Additionally, some centrifugal fans opt for plastic, typically PP, as their primary material. However, due to its lower strength compared to glass fiber reinforced plastic, their application range is limited, and large-scale ones are rare. Nonetheless, their unique properties may make them suitable for anti-corrosion fans. Beyond that, there are also centrifugal fans made from titanium metal, steel-lined plastic, steel-lined glass fiber reinforced plastic, and other materials or composite materials. Although not common, they play a significant role in specific fields.
