In design, attention should be given to selection, layout, and fixation. Prioritize using advanced, structurally sound, and user-friendly floating fender types for ships. Depending on the pier's structural style, the designed ship type, and natural conditions, rationally arrange the position and spacing of the floating fender for ships. Prevent the floating fender from obstructing vessels. Ensure that the equipment for fixing the floating fender is reliable, and also easy to maintain and replace, to avoid damage to the floating fender due to poor fixation.
During construction, obligations must be strictly adhered to in accordance with design requirements and relevant professional standards, whether it be the manufacturing or installation of ship-mounted floating fender. Both must meet design specifications to ensure construction quality.
In terms of management, two key obligations should be emphasized. Firstly, stringent management of berth usage should be implemented, ensuring that vessels dock according to the designed ship type and tonnage. For those with significant discrepancies in tonnage and size from the designed ship type, strict control over docking speed and angle should be enforced, and efforts should be made to prevent smaller vessels from docking in large harbors to avoid damage to floating fender systems. Secondly, the maintenance and repair obligations for floating fender systems should be strengthened. Immediate repairs should be conducted for any signs of damage to prevent further deterioration.
