The main principle of a desulfurization tower is to react with SO2 in the flue gas through an absorbent, converting it into sulfuric acid or sulfate, and then separating the solid and liquid phases in the absorbent. A desulfurization tower typically consists of an absorption tower, circulating pump, spray system, and waste liquid treatment system.

The absorption tower is the core component of the desulfurization tower, typically utilizing a packed tower or spray tower structure. Combustion flue gas enters the absorption tower through the inlet at the top, where it comes into contact with the absorbent in the spray system. Under the action of the absorbent, SO2 is absorbed and converted into sulfuric acid or sulfates. Subsequently, other pollutants in the flue gas, such as dust, are filtered out, and the purified flue gas is discharged from the bottom of the tower.

The recirculating pump is responsible for extracting the absorbent from the bottom of the storage tank and then spraying it back into the absorption tower through the spray system to come into contact with the waste gas. This recirculation process ensures the full utilization of the absorbent and enhances the desulfurization efficiency.

The waste liquid treatment system is designed for handling waste liquids containing sulfuric acid or sulfates. Typically, the waste liquids undergo steps such as dewatering and neutralization to meet compliance discharge standards.
