Tower斧(separation container) is a commonly used laboratory equipment in chemical laboratories. Made of glass, it is typically cone-shaped or cylindrical. The Tower斧 is used for separating different components from liquid or gas mixtures.
The Tower Ax is composed of three main parts: the base is a funnel-shaped container, the middle is a slender neck, and the top features a wider mouth. During the experiment, the mixture to be separated is poured into the base container of the Tower Ax and connected to other experimental equipment or collection containers via the neck.
When the mixture is poured into the tower, it will separate into layers due to the differences in volatility among different substances. Lighter substances tend to float upwards, while heavier substances sink. By controlling experimental conditions such as temperature and pressure, the separation process in the tower can be better regulated. The lighter substances will gradually evaporate to the top spout and be transferred through the connected pipe to other containers for collection. The heavier substances will remain at the bottom of the tower.
The design of the Tower Axe allows for effective separation of different materials, minimizing interference between them. This separation process is commonly used for extracting chemicals, purifying mixtures, or obtaining higher purity substances.
