An atmospheric expansion tank is a device that can adjust gas pressure. When gas is stored in an atmospheric expansion tank, the pressure inside the tank can be regulated by the movement of the tank's internal piston or diaphragm. When the external gas pressure increases, the piston or diaphragm inside the tank automatically moves inward, reducing the volume of the gas within to maintain a constant pressure. Conversely, when the external gas pressure decreases, the piston or diaphragm moves outward, increasing the volume of the gas inside to maintain a constant pressure.
