The Multi-functional Turbine Disc Extractor Tower (with jacket) is a rotating stir tower-type extraction equipment. A series of sieve plates (stationary rings) divide the tower body into several stages along the axial direction. Between every two fixed sieve plates, there is a turbine-type mixer mounted on the rotating shaft. The turbine rotates within the compartments to generate characteristic flow patterns, keeping the fluid in the turbulent zone inside the tower. Due to the stronger shearing action of the turbine compared to the general disc, the stirring effect of the turbine mixer tower is much more intense, allowing for thorough dispersion of droplets, which is beneficial for mass transfer.
The extraction tower is a differential contact tower with continuous fluid contact throughout the tower. There is a two-phase separation at both the inlet and outlet. A model based on the droplet cluster theory better describes the fluid flow characteristics within this type of tower. The droplet cluster model provides a comprehensive statistical description of the system, being a function of droplet size, concentration, and related properties in the dispersed phase.
The industrial turbine extraction tower consists of five main parts: oil-water separator (upper and lower), tower body, disc system, feed and discharge system, and electrical control system. The inner diameter and height of the tower are customized based on the customer's process materials. Several static rings are set at certain intervals on the inner wall of the tower. The turbine (moving ring, disc) is fixed on the central shaft, and the static rings divide the tower into several mixing zones. In each mixing zone, the liquid is mixed by the moving ring to achieve phase mixing. Each mixing zone acts as a theoretical stage, allowing the two-phase liquids to achieve multi-stage countercurrent contact and mixing during the countercurrent process.
Process of Work
The oil phase (light phase) enters from the bottom of the tower and overflows from the top; the water phase (heavy phase) is added at the top and exits from the bottom, both flowing in opposite directions within the tower.
Turbine Agitator Propeller: Provides necessary radial mixing and phase dispersion, with the design of the turbine propeller optimized based on fluid dynamic research data to produce uniformly dispersed droplet sizes and more accurate predictions of the flow characteristics of two-phase fluid mechanics.
Towers: Separated to form a single compartment, they can reduce the axial mixing of fluids while achieving a high hold-up rate of the dispersed phase.
