Battery recycling PLC integrated extraction tank (extraction box, extractor, and mixing clarifier) is a step-by-step contact extraction device, consisting of a mixing system, mixing zone, clarification zone, and phase separation zone. In each stage, the two immiscible liquid phases undergo mixing, clarification, and phase separation processes, thereby achieving mass transfer and separation of the target solute between different liquid phases.

Work Process
The specific working process of the extraction tank (mixing clarification tank) involves the feedstock and extracting agent being pumped into the mixing chamber through their respective feed openings by the feed pump. The high-speed agitator then mixes the feedstock and extracting agent for mass transfer. Subsequently, they flow through overflow baffles into the clarification chamber, where separation of the light and heavy phases is achieved under gravity. The separated light and heavy phases then enter different outlets, completing one extraction cycle. In actual production, the extraction tank is typically a multi-stage series arrangement, including extraction sections, reverse extraction sections, washing sections, and regeneration sections, among other stages. Mixed Mass Transfer Process
Raw Material IntroductionThe feedstock liquid and the extracting agent are separately introduced into the mixing chamber of the extraction tank through their respective feed ports. For instance, in hydrometallurgy, the aqueous solution containing metal ions serves as the feedstock liquid, while the organic extracting agent is introduced as another liquid phase into the mixing chamber.
Blended MixingThe mixing chamber is equipped with a blender that rotates at high speed, ensuring thorough contact and mixing between the raw material liquid and the extracting agent. Under the action of the blender, the solute is transferred from the raw material liquid to the extracting agent, forming a two-phase solution. The intensity and duration of the blending significantly affect the mass transfer efficiency; insufficient blending leads to inadequate contact between the two phases, reducing the efficiency; excessive blending, however, may cause emulsification, increasing the difficulty in subsequent separation.
Separation process
Overflow enters the clarification chamberThe mixed liquid enters the clarification chamber through overflow baffles. The clarification chamber is a spacious empty room with a large cavity volume, providing ample space for the liquid to settle and separate.
Gravity Natural SeparationIn the clarification chamber, due to the different densities of the raw liquid and the extracting agent, under the action of gravity, the two phases gradually separate. The denser phase (usually the heavier phase) sinks to the bottom, while the less dense phase (usually the lighter phase) floats on top, forming a clear phase interface.
Partial contact reduces mass transfer efficiency; excessive stirring may lead to emulsification, increasing the difficulty of subsequent separation.
