Conglomerate DianthusAlso known as the Japanese绣球,this is a perennial dwarf herb with dense roots and numerous branches. It tends to spread across the ground, primarily found in grasslands and riverbanks. Its blooming period is long, featuring bright colors and a fragrant aroma, making it suitable for mass planting in flower beds and combining with other low shrubs for excellent landscaping effects. The plant thrives in a warm, humid, and sunny environment. Today, we'll explore its blooming season.

This plant is highly resilient to cold, drought, barren soil, and extreme heat. At -8 degrees Celsius, its leaves remain green. It can survive winter at -32 degrees. On barren sandy land, it can grow even without rain for several days. It can withstand temperatures of up to 42 degrees Celsius. It blooms twice a year, with each flowering lasting about 40 days.

The propagation of Dianthus superbus primarily involves cuttings and branching. Cuttings can be propagated from May to July. Select healthy plants and use semi-woody stems, 7 to 25 cm in length, as the cuttings. The cutting medium can be clean river sand or vermiculite.

Propagation by division can be carried out in spring and autumn. Dig up seedlings, separate the plants with entangled roots to form individual seedlings, and plant them with a spacing of 15 to 20 centimeters between each plant. Up to two or three plants can be planted in each hole.

After planting the flower, compact the soil, pour root-binding water, and then repeat after 3 days. Approximately 4 days later, the soil can be loosened once and then transitioned to regular management. Apply amino acid water-soluble fertilizer to fertile farmland, and top dress appropriately to supplement nutrients.

Here is the information about the blooming period of Dianthus superbus provided by the editor. From the above introduction, it is clear that knowledge about the blooming of Dianthus superbus is quite helpful for our cultivation. It originated in the eastern part of North America and was introduced and cultivated in eastern China. The introduction and cultivation in the Yantai area is a recent development.
