How should one choose a welding suit?
1. Welding suits should be made of pure cotton canvas. During welding, polyester or other synthetic fabric materials can melt into a liquid and stick to the body, easily causing burns; whereas cotton workwear is more heat-resistant, and even if it burns, it will only turn into ash without deforming.
2. I personally suggest choosing white for the welding suit color. Since welding suits need to be flame-resistant, they are usually made of cotton, which is not easy to control in color fastness. After strong light exposure, the color may turn yellow or red. However, white (usually bleached) has strong reflectivity and better reflection than bright colors, providing more effective protection for the body.
3. Welders performing full-position welding should wear leather welding jackets.
4. During overhead welding cuts, to prevent sparks and slag from splashing onto the head and shoulders, welders should wrap a towel around their neck, wear protective gear made from flame-retardant materials, including shoulder guards, long-sleeved gloves, aprons, and shoe covers.
5. Welders' welding suits should not be damp, the pants length should cover the shoe tops, and there should be no rips, holes, or gaps on the welding suit. It should not be stained with oil or dirt.
