Abstract: High polymer materials, with their superior properties, have replaced some traditional materials in the field of civil marine vessels. This paper reviews the current applications of high polymer composite materials for marine use, functional high polymer materials for marine use, and other high polymer materials for marine use. Civil marine materials tend to be sturdy, durable, with higher strength, and comfortable and safe. The designability of high polymer materials meets the multifaceted needs of marine materials. It is predictable that high polymer materials will be more widely used in the shipbuilding field.
