Failure to do so may inevitably lead to corrosion. Therefore, it is mandatory to inspect the oil for compliance with quality standards before use.
3. Poor coating. Improper use of rust preventive oil can result in ineffective performance. If the rust preventive oil is applied through hot dipping, controlling the temperature is crucial, typically between 65℃ to 95℃. For large workpieces, they should be allowed to stay in the dipping container for a period to prevent the coating from becoming too thick and easily falling off due to sudden solidification. The entire workpiece should also be fully immersed. If solvent-thinned rust preventive oil is used, the workpiece should be left to stand for a while after dipping, allowing the solvent to fully evaporate before packaging.
4. Poor Packaging. The hard membrane-type rust preventive oil film has good toughness and is generally not affected by minor impacts, so external packaging is not necessary. However, in case of severe impacts, protective packaging papers like wax paper should be used. Rust preventive oils with oil films cannot withstand friction and pressure, so they should be handled with care to avoid impacts. During oil application, the oil should be allowed to dry and cure before being packaged with protective materials (packaging paper, plastic film, etc.). The packaging paper should meet strict requirements, with a chloride ion content generally not exceeding 0.1%. Sulfate ions have certain mechanical strength, low water and gas permeability, and are oil-proof. Especially when using vapor phase rust inhibitors, poor packaging can lead to vapor phase rust inhibitor leakage and corrosion. The choice of cushioning materials should also be cautious to prevent corrosion.
