Welding Robot for Wind Turbine Blades Boosts Ventilation Industry
Guangzhou Yuansheng Automation Technology Co., Ltd. has developed and produced a wind turbine blade welding robot, primarily used in the ventilation industry. The welding efficiency reaches 10 pieces per minute, three times faster than manual welding, significantly reducing labor costs while greatly enhancing production efficiency. The wind turbine blade welding robot utilizes an intelligent automatic positioning system, performs automatic wire feeding and welding, breaking away from traditional robot teaching methods, achieving greater automation and intelligence.To enhance the manufacturing process, production efficiency, and welding quality of centrifugal compressors, and to alleviate labor intensity, a research project on robotic welding of slot-welded impeller blades was initiated. This project employs a six-axis inverted welding robot equipped with contact sensors and AVC functions, utilizing thermal wire tungsten argon arc welding. It is paired with an electrically heated and water-cooled two-axis positioning machine. Consequently, the slot-welded impeller welding robot achieves eight-axis linkage, capable of welding both binary and ternary impellers. The project has conducted research on various process parameters such as welding current, voltage, speed, wire feeding speed, thermal wire current, and gas flow rate, as well as groove structure types. Mechanical properties of the weld joints, X-ray and penetrant non-destructive testing, macroscopic and metallographic analysis of welds have been performed, resulting in successful production implementation and satisfactory outcomes.
