Manganese is widely distributed in nature, found in almost all types of ores and silicate rocks. Common manganese minerals include anhydrous and hydrated manganese oxides and carbonates. There are over 150 known manganese minerals, but only about 5-6 types can be concentrated in large amounts to form economically valuable manganese deposits. Among them, soft manganese ore and hard manganese ore are significant and valuable. Other types include jarosite, limonite, pyrolusite, rhodochrosite, and romanechite. These minerals contain approximately 50-70% manganese, making them important industrial manganese minerals.
