During the installation of the screw shutter, ensure the foundation layout plane is level at 180°; the contact area between the shutter base and the foundation layout plane should be over 90%; the screw shaft must be perpendicular to the horizontal plane of the weir deck; it should align vertically with the hinge holes of the weir plate to prevent the screw from tilting, which could lead to localized stress and damage the machinery.
After the screw shutter is installed, it must undergo a trial run. First, perform a no-load test, allowing the screw to complete two strokes and listen for any abnormal sounds to check if the installation meets technical requirements. Second, conduct a load test by operating the screw for two strokes under the rated load, observing for any abnormal phenomena in the operation of the screw and gate. Only after confirming there are no issues can the machine be operated officially. After a period of operation under load, the first maintenance should be carried out. Clean the metal shavings produced by the friction of new components inside the machine, especially the screw, nut, turbine, and worm, gently and thoroughly. Apply lubricating oil, seal it tightly, and continue using.
