Structural Features: A. This product is available in two types: piercing and non-piercing (stripping the insulating layer). It mainly consists of insulating guards, aluminum alloy wire clamps, composite insulators, arc rods, and lower steel legs, with the structure shown in Figure 1. B. The arc rod and wire clamp fittings are assembled and connected as a single unit. When a lightning strike occurs, a flashover discharge is induced between the arc rod and the lower steel foot, creating a short-circuit path. The subsequent power frequency arc burns between the arc rod and the steel foot, protecting the wire from burning. The arc rod bypasses the canopy skirt and is adjusted to the optimal discharge gap, resulting in better discharge effects and preventing the burning of the insulating canopy skirt. The piercing design eliminates the need to remove the wire insulation, preventing water intrusion and corrosion of the wire core. Installation is extremely convenient, significantly reducing the labor intensity for the workers. E. Insulators made of composite materials offer superior insulation performance compared to PS-15 porcelain insulators, and they also have a larger creepage distance, enhancing the anti-fouling level of the insulators to meet the wide range of anti-fouling requirements from customers. F. The insulation shield is made of silicone rubber material, featuring excellent insulation, aging resistance, and flame-retardant properties. G. The clamp slot of the lightning arrester insulator should be aligned parallel to the conductor and mounted on the cross arm, tighten the steel foot nut, which is equivalent to the traditional insulator installation method, and position the arc rod towards the far outer side of the cross arm (further from the cross arm); the arc rod should face in one direction, ideally towards the load side. The piercing-type wire clamping method is as follows: Set the torque value of the torque wrench according to the wire cross-section and weather temperature: 26-32Nm, and alternately and symmetrically tighten the two pressure nuts with the torque wrench. A visual inspection is sufficient, just barely visible to the root of the piercing teeth, then tighten the locking nut to prevent the pressure nuts from loosening. C. Non-penetrating wire clamping method: Strip a section of insulating wire (about 65-80mm) and insert it into the wire clamp of the insulator, then tighten the nut with a wrench to secure the wire with the pressure plate. The insulating sheath is assembled on the outside of the wire clamp.
