Direct Replacement
Direct substitution refers to replacing the original IC with another IC without any modifications, which does not affect the machine's main performance and specifications.
The substitution principle is that the functions, performance indicators, packaging forms, pin purposes, pin numbering, and spacing of the ICs being substituted are all identical. The functional similarity of the ICs not only refers to the same functions but also requires attention to the same logical polarity, meaning the output/input level polarity, voltage, and current amplitude must be the same. For example: the image amplifier ICs, TA7607 and TA7611, where the former is a reverse high gain AGC and the latter is a positive high gain AGC, thus they cannot be directly substituted. In addition, ICs with different polarity AFT voltages and output polarity of synchronization pulses cannot be directly substituted, even if they are from the same company or manufacturer; it is important to differentiate them. Performance indicators refer to the main electrical parameters (or main characteristic curves) of the IC, dissipation power, operating voltage, frequency range, and the impedance of various signal inputs and outputs, which should be similar to the original IC. For power-saving substitutes, a larger heat sink should be used.
1. Replacement for the same model IC
The replacement of ICs of the same model is generally reliable. When installing integrated circuits, pay attention to the orientation to avoid mistakes; otherwise, the IC may be damaged when powered on. Some single-inline package power amplifier ICs, although with the same model, function, and characteristics, the direction of the pin arrangement may differ. For example, the dual-channel power amplifier IC LA4507 has "positive" and "negative" pin markings, with different orientations for the starting pin marking (dot or concave). This includes ICs without a suffix and those with a "R" suffix, such as M5115P and M5115RP.
2. Replacement of Different IC Models
⑴ Replacement of ICs with the same prefix letter and different numbers. As long as the pin functions are identical, these ICs can be directly substituted for each other, even if there are slight differences in their internal circuits and electrical parameters. For example, the audio amplifier ICs LA1363 and LA1365, where the latter adds a voltage regulator diode internally at pin ⑤ compared to the former, while all other features are the same.

On August 29th, the 3-day DIC EXPO 2023 (China International Display Technology & Application Innovation Expo) opened at the New International Expo Center in Shanghai, bringing together upstream, midstream, and downstream enterprises in the industry to showcase achievements in new display technologies.
