U.S.A. AB Rockwell 1756-L72 Controller - Honest Business Practices
Allen-Bradley 1756-L71 is a CoControlLogix Programmable Automation Controller. It features 2 MB of user memory and 0.98 MB of I/O memory. It also includes a built-in 4-character alphanumeric display for easy monitoring of runtime and module information, as well as controller diagnostics. It has an open housing and an integrated 2.0 full-speed USB port. Communication options available include DeviceNet, ControlNet, EtherNet/IP, Remote I/O Data Highway Plus, third-party processes and networks, and SynchroNet.ink. It also comes with 1 GB of non-volatile memory, but you can upgrade it to 2 GB using the 1784-SD2. It is recommended to keep the SD card in the controller. The 1756-L71 controller is equipped with three capacitor energy storage modules, two of which are removable. It consumes 5 mA at 1.2 V DC and 800 mA at 5.1 V DC. The 1756-L71 controller also features 30 V continuous isolation voltage, 2.5 W power consumption, and 8.5 BTU/hour cooling. Its analog I/O, digital I/O, and total I/O are 4,000, 128,000, and 128,000, respectively. This product operates at 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and stores at -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. Its ambient air temperature is 60 degrees Celsius, and the non-condensing relative humidity is 5% to 95%. The controller withstands 2G vibration, 30G operational shock, and 50G non-operational shock from 10 to 500 Hz, dropping to 45G when inserting the SD card. Other controllers may require users to understand PLC registers, particularly bytes and bits, to start addressing program elements. With the 1756-L71, users simply insert a program element and select the logical channel of the physical I/O connection. In other PLCs, users might need to move a register to another to initiate conversion and processing, just to obtain analog data. This controller requires only that users locate the logical channel of the I/O signal's physical termination.

This controller is part of the modern Logix controller platform, categorized as a Programmable Automation Controller (PAC). The PAC product line is particularly well-suited for medium to large-scale automation requirements, especially for control needs in the factory and process automation industries.
1756-L71 features 2MB user memory and 0.98 MB I/O memory. It also includes a 1784-SD1 secure digital (SD) card, totaling 1 GB of non-volatile storage, which can be upgraded to 2GB by replacing it with a 1784-SD2 card. The controller can handle up to 128,000 discrete input/output signals and 4,000 analog input/output signals.
As a modern controller, the 1756-L71 does not use batteries to retain the contents of the random access memory (RAM) or volatile memory; instead, it is equipped with a storage module, catalog number 756-ESMCAP or 1756-ESMCAPK. This storage module is a removable type based on capacitors.
