In the overall environmental pollution, air, light, and electromagnetic pollution related to construction account for 34%; construction waste constitutes 40% of the total waste generated by human activities. As the volume of construction increases, it is also causing more severe phenomena such as land occupation and ecological environment destruction. The promotion of green buildings is particularly urgent. As a professional manufacturer of light steel villas, we will also adopt green environmental protection as our development direction to adapt to the theme of green living.

Our country currently has a total floor area of over 50 billion square meters, with an additional 1.6 to 2 billion square meters being newly constructed each year. Over 95% of our buildings are high-energy-consuming, requiring twice to three times the energy per square meter to achieve the same indoor comfort level as developed regions with similar climates. Retrofitting existing buildings for energy conservation and emission reduction holds significant potential. During the "11th Five-Year Plan" period, building energy conservation accounted for 20% of our total energy conservation tasks. If we strictly implement a 50% energy conservation standard and locally a 65% standard, by 2020, we could save 354 million tons of standard coal annually, representing 30.7% of the concurrent energy conservation and emission reduction goals. Green buildings, while achieving energy conservation, also provide users with a comfortable and safe indoor environment, symbolizing the trend in architectural development and holding great promise.

The lightweight steel villa is a building system primarily constructed with lightweight steel framing, supplemented by other insulation and decorative materials, through factory integration and on-site assembly. But what exactly is this "lightweight steel," and why does it possess such strong load-bearing and corrosion-resistant capabilities, allowing houses to stand firm against wind and rain for over 100 years?

I. The Development History and Basic Technology of Lightweight Steel Structural Villa

Lite steel structure villas, also known as lite steel structure houses, are primarily composed of light steel frames made from hot-dipped galvanized steel strips cold-rolled into shape. With the calculated support and integration of accessories, they provide reasonable bearing capacity to replace traditional housing. Due to their light steel frame structure and elegant design, these new houses are referred to as lite steel villas.

The construction technology for lightweight steel frame low-rise residential buildings has evolved from the North American style wooden structure construction technology. After more than a century of development, it has formed a mature construction system with excellent physical properties, flexible space and form, ease of construction, and diverse styles. On the North American continent, renowned for its living environment, over 95% of low-rise civil buildings, including residential, commercial, educational, and office buildings, are constructed using wooden structures or lightweight steel frames (even including our neighboring Japan and South Korea). Moreover, the market development of the North American lightweight steel frame system is growing rapidly at a rate exceeding 30%, gradually gaining widespread acceptance in the market. It is also extensively used in our neighboring Japan and South Korea, as well as in Australia.

The rapid development of North American light steel structures can be attributed to several factors: mature and reliable technology, flexible structural systems conducive to construction and commercial development, high economic efficiency in buildings, and technology that aligns with the trend of environmental protection, energy conservation, and sustainable development.

The technology and product configuration of light steel structures are highly mature and industrialized, representing the crystallization of a century of architectural technology and building materials industry development in North America. The galvanized steel plates used in the construction structures exhibit excellent corrosion resistance and durability, with a lifespan of 275 years under normal use conditions.

Light steel structures boast superior seismic performance compared to traditional concrete and brick-mixed residential buildings. Additionally, due to their light structural weight, the weight per unit area is only 1/4 of that of an equivalent brick-mixed structure, making the foundation treatment simpler and suitable for most geological conditions. Steel structure homes no longer have to worry about termite damage like wooden structure homes do.

Due to the factory-finished steel used in light steel structures, the structural integrity of these villas is exceptionally high. A single villa's structural system is composed of tens of thousands of components, each with an average error less than 2 millimeters, ensuring the quality of the house—a level unattainable by traditional construction methods.
