Causes of Arc Light There are many causes for arc fault short circuit failures in switch cabinets, generally categorized into the following five types: 1) Insulation Fault: Primarily due to insufficient creepage distance of the insulation material within the cabinet, which does not meet the enhanced insulation requirements. Insulation faults occur in dirty and humid environments. Additionally, due to material defects in the insulation, switch cabinets that have been in operation for a long time may experience insulation aging under the influence of strong electromagnetic fields, potentially causing insulation damage and resulting in faults. 2) Current Loop Defect: Due to insufficient cross-sections at some joints, loose securing bolts, poor contact at the handcart contacts, and overheating when high currents flow, it can lead to sparking and subsequent phase-to-phase breakdown, etc. 3) Entry of foreign objects: such as small animals (like rats) entering the switchgear cabinet, or maintenance personnel leaving tools behind inside the cabinet after completing work. 4) Misoperations: Such as incorrect spacing, improper operation, failure to ground the work area, and failure to test the electrical supply in the work area. 5) System-related reasons: such as increased system capacity, changed grounding methods, increased cable applications, improper configuration of protective and automatic control devices, and excessive system resonance overvoltage. Signal Light Instructions The "Running" indicator light is green, flashing once per second when the device is operating normally. b) The "Action" indicator light is red, indicating the protective device has tripped. c) The "Alarm" indicator light is red, indicating a protective alarm action of the device. d) "Locking Arc" indicator is red, indicating the locking arc protection function. e) The "Communication" indicator is green, indicating the device's communication status. f) The "Extend" indicator light is green, indicating inter-device communication. (g) The "Remote" indicator light is green, indicating that the device is in a remote state and can be controlled remotely. When the arc light unit transmits the light signal from the arc sensor to the main control unit, and simultaneously the current start element activates, arc light protection is triggered; the device can optionally use a single criterion for arc light signal action as the logic for operation.
