Low-voltage tensioning porcelain insulator

Low-voltage insulators are used for insulating and suspending conductors in low and extra-low voltage AC and DC transmission lines. In earlier years, low-voltage insulators were predominantly used on utility poles. Over time, at the top of tall high-voltage transmission towers, many disc-shaped insulators were added to increase the creepage distance. Typically made of glass or ceramic, these are referred to as insulators.
