Counterflow cooling towers have water flowing down through the tower packing while air flows up from the bottom.
Three Stages of Cooling Towers:
1 Place the water distributor at the top of the tower packing, as the water temperature is relatively high, it can continue to transfer heat to the air.
The filling water at the top of the 2 towers exchanges with the hot gas at the bottom, commonly known as the countercurrent section.
The 3-stage packing reaches the bottom sump, where the hot water is cooled to become cold water. The counterflow cooling tower is more efficient than the crossflow type.
Advantages of counterflow cooling towers:
1. The complete set of equipment features a simple design, with a smooth water distribution system. The entire water distribution process requires no special requirements and is not prone to clogging. It employs spray fillers to prevent aging and condensate backflow. In cooler areas, anti-freezing measures are easily implemented. Moreover, it can be designed for the simultaneous use of multiple cooling towers.
2 sets of equipment feature a simple design and easy operation. The production cost of the entire set can be controlled and is typically used in large-scale cooling water circulation systems.
