Alumina, as a refractory material, the active alumina spheres produced from it as raw material have a wide range of uses, bringing convenience to our lives. For instance, in industrial treatment, using it can achieve the effect of water purification, significantly saving water resources and realizing the reuse of water.

Activated Alumina Spheres are white, spherical materials that offer significant benefits in water purification, serving as effective defluorination agents. Made through special processes, they possess a unique skeletal structure, resulting in strong affinity with the active components. The product features uniformly distributed micropores with appropriate pore sizes, large pore volume, high water absorption rate, low bulk density, and good mechanical properties, making it suitable for use as a desiccant, catalyst carrier, defluorination agent, pressure swing adsorbent, and hydrogen peroxide regenerant. The CO-Mo series sulfur-tolerant shift catalysts prepared using this product exhibit excellent low-temperature activity, wide operating temperature range, and short sulfidation time, making them suitable for small and medium-sized ammonia synthesis plants.

Activated alumina (molecular formula Al2O(3-x)(OH)2x, 0 < x < 0.8) is one of the most widely used inorganic chemical products in the world today. Due to its porous structure, high specific surface area, and unstable transitional state, activated alumina boasts significant reactivity. It is extensively used as a catalyst and catalyst carrier in the petrochemical and fertilizer industries. Activated alumina also possesses adsorption properties, making it suitable as a desiccant for gases and liquids, an adsorbent for gas purification, a defluorination agent for drinking water, and for removing color and odor in industrial wastewater. The main industrial activated alumina products produced today are all manufactured through rapid dehydration methods. Activated alumina refers to calcined alumina that has been finely milled, with α-Al2O3 particles of original crystal size around 1μm, and consists primarily of (20%-90%) α-Al2O3.

Activated alumina spheres are used for water purification without causing secondary pollution to the water. The purified water is safe for drinking, and they can also be used as household desiccants.
