What is a water excavator?
A water excavator is a type of excavator that operates on water surfaces, also known as a waterborne excavator. It is typically carried by floating docks or large vessels and can perform underwater excavation tasks. Most water excavators are hydraulic backhoe models, generally with larger specifications, consisting of the bucket, boom, arm, rotation platform, rotation disk, and power unit. Modified water excavators can operate on water surfaces less than 2 meters deep and are applicable in projects such as dam construction, river channel clearance, and sand mining. Compared to standard excavators, water excavators have the capability to work in various complex underwater environments, with greater digging depth and range. Special attention must be paid to safety and adherence to operational procedures during the operation or maintenance of water excavators to prevent accidents.
