What are the methods for inspecting the quality of galvanized steel grating?

1. Inspect the appearance dimensions and diagonals of the galvanized steel grating. The national standard requires a precision of 5mm for the length and width of steel grating. Typically, for installation considerations, each steel grating's length and width are reduced by 5mm. If each grating were 5mm larger, it would likely not fit on-site. Therefore, it is normal for the steel grating to be short by up to 5mm (considering installation factors). If you do not require scaling, please specify in advance. Our company uses CNC welding to control the reduction to within 3mm. Additionally, measure the diagonals of other products; if the diagonal measurement error is within 5mm, the product's basic appearance dimensions are generally acceptable and will not pose any difficulties during installation.

2. The spacing of the holes and the thickness of the flat steel in galvanized steel grating, the size of the holes at the steel grating base generally does not affect the use of the steel grating, but directly impacts its load-bearing capacity and the cost of construction. Our national standards typically indicate the spacing between the flat steel bases. The correct measurement method is the distance from the center of one flat steel to the center of another. If someone tells you it should be the distance from the edge of one flat steel to the edge of another, that is incorrect. You should refer to the standard, which has clear explanations. The thickness of the flat steel can deviate ±0.25mm from the standard thickness. Usually, this thickness in hot-dip galvanized products will increase, so if you measure with a caliper and the data is less than 0.25mm, the product is considered to be qualified. Quality inspections, regardless of location, are conducted based on the standard, so there's no need to worry about failure to deliver.

3. If the product is hand-welded, it may produce a significant amount of slag. To maintain aesthetics, it's suggested to have it cleaned up. If possible, opt for machine-pressed steel grating, as its finish is far superior to that of hand-welding.

4. The quality of the seam, whether machine-welded or not, is a significant factor affecting product quality. The uniformity of the welds and the presence of any open or cold welds require a close, meticulous inspection with the naked eye.

5. Hot-Dip Galvanized Quality is also a crucial aspect. Poor quality hot-dip galvanizing can lead to zinc slag and incomplete coating. This affects the overall product quality. We strictly inspect the quality of our outgoing products to ensure that every galvanized steel grating has a smooth surface and passes the quality standards.
