Manufacturing Process of Glass-Fiber Reinforced Plastic Storage Tanks:

现场assembling of glass fiber reinforced plastic storage tank equipment.

Installation of Coiling Equipment: On-site coiling utilizes vertical coiling equipment, assembled core molds, and equipped with spray guns. The entire coiling process is completed under computer control according to programmed settings.

b. Mold Installation: The molds are mounted on the upper and lower support rings of the site winding equipment, with vertical reinforcing ribs in the middle, covered with a layer of three-ply plywood and another of five-ply plywood. A polyethylene film is then wrapped over the surface.

2. Installation and alignment of the glass fiber reinforced plastic storage tank's roof and mold.

The top of the drum is pre-drilled with lifting holes, and the prefabricated drum top is hoisted onto the assembled mold using a crane, adhering strictly to lifting specifications during the hoisting process. The mating of the drum top with the drum body must be tight; the wooden diagonal joints used in the drum body mold are cut according to the shape of the drum top to ensure a tight fit.

3. Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) Storage Tank Body Manufacturing

The tank is completed through two processes: the inner lining is formed by jet molding, and the structural layer is wrapped around.

Liner Forming: The liner comes into direct contact with the storage medium, and its quality and performance directly affect the lifespan and leakage prevention capability of the tank.

b. Cylinder Wrapping: Cylinder wrapping ensures the entire cylinder's strength, utilizing on-site vertical wrapping equipment. The wrapping diameter reaches up to 25 meters, with a wrapping height of 12 meters. The wrapping parameters are controlled by a computer to meet the design's strength specifications.

4. Fiberglass storage tank bottom manufacturing process.

The base layer is directly processed for the bottom seal fabrication. First, the structural layer is created, followed by the lining layer. The structural layer is laid according to the process requirements, with felt and fabric alternately placed, ensuring good saturation and bubble-free application. The felt and fabric layers should overlap slightly less than 30 inches at the corners, with alternating corner compensation tanks used for the structural layer with 902# resin, and the lining layer sealed with 3301# resin. The bottom seal fabrication may have minor defects such as bubbles and delamination.

5. FRP storage tank bottom and body assembly.

The completed drums are connected by cranes, with the drum and bottom inserted and joined. The seams are filled with resin mortar, followed by sealing the interior wall of the drum with felt and resin. First, a circular arc is formed using resin mortar according to the construction drawings, then a sealing layer of 8-10mm thickness is made with felt paste. For the connection between the outer wall of the drum and the bottom, glass fiber wrapping纱 is soaked in resin and wrapped around the bottom seam of the drum. Finally, fiber felt or cloth is used for the assembly.

Afterward, the resin mortar is filled, with the resin content being operated at the upper level as per the design; the tank body is connected to the tank bottom.

6. Glass fiber reinforced plastic storage tank body hoisting.

The lifting disc is placed into and securely fastened in the lifting hole from the interior of the drum, ensuring the rope is less than 7 degrees off-center.
