QN1803 stainless steel is a special austenitic stainless steel with high nitrogen content, excellent corrosion resistance, and reduced nickel usage. Developed by Qingshan Steel in 2018, it is an economical corrosion-resistant stainless steel material. While maintaining comparable corrosion resistance to S30408, QN1803 enhances the strength and hardness of the material, while also reducing costs. This stainless steel has a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) above 19, offering similar corrosion performance to S30408. Moreover, its corrosion resistance is even superior to S30408 after various cold working processes such as bending, stamping, and hard tempering. Additionally, QN1803 stainless steel boasts significantly higher yield and tensile strengths than S30408, along with an elongation of no less than 45%.
QN1803 stainless steel is widely used in various fields, including roofing tiles, wall tiles, purlins, gutters, and more. Thanks to its high strength (reaching Q355 grade, significantly higher than the Q235 grade of 304 stainless steel), it can reduce material thickness, achieve lightweight products, and ensure at least equivalent corrosion resistance to 304 stainless steel, particularly in harsh environments like sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, where QN1803's corrosion resistance is even stronger. Additionally, QN1803 stainless steel is used in the stainless steel decorative tube industry, such as fences, station barriers, handrails, and burglar-proof windows. Its excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, and low cost make it a viable substitute for 304 stainless steel in many applications.
In summary, QN1803 stainless steel is a high-performance, cost-effective material, suitable for various industrial and construction applications.
