**Basic Principle of Oxygen Probes**: The core function of oxygen probes is to measure oxygen content in various industrial application environments using zirconia (ZrO2) ceramic sensitive elements. ZrO2 is a typical ionic crystal. When appropriate amounts of divalent or trivalent cubic symmetric oxide additives, such as CaO, MgO, Y2O3, and other trivalent rare earth oxides, are added to ZrO2, it can be converted into a fast ion conductor for oxygen at temperatures above 600°C. This material is known in the scientific community as solid electrolyte.
