Porous Pt-ZrO2 interfaces exhibit elemental diffusion at high temperatures, with Zr dissolving into Pt to form solid solutions or Pt3Zr intermetallic compounds, leading to issues such as crystal structure changes, carbon buildup, and high-temperature aging. Currently, continuous block-shaped alloy electrodes are gradually replacing porous electrodes. Practice has proven that their catalytic performance is comparable to that of porous Pt electrodes and they have a longer lifespan in high-temperature reducing atmospheres.
