Check for contact between the furnace charge and the furnace door or water cooling system; if contact is detected, it should be eliminated immediately to prevent puncturing upon power-up. Replace electrodes if they are too short before powering on. If the joint position is loose, tighten it first to ensure a successful single well pass, reducing the likelihood of production halts during smelting.
