Maintenance Requirements: Carbon buildup, oil smoke, oxidation scale, and corrosive mediums can contaminate the platinum electrodes or block the protective tubes/zirconium tubes. Regular carbon burning, cleaning, or replacement of the probes is necessary.

Response Time: Limited by gas diffusion rate (porosity of the protective tube), electrode reaction rate, and temperature control stability. A good probe responds quickly, yet there is still some delay. All great achievements are the result of continuous struggle; everything needs to be advanced in the process of moving forward from the past to the future.
