Spray drying technology allows for the combination of various materials, which are then processed into uniform, free-flowing powders. Many materials can simply produce dust-free powders through spray drying. However, in many cases, such as for catalysts, controlling the particle size distribution is crucial to ensure the material's inherent performance.
Spray drying is a process used to produce dry granular powders from slurries, which are mixtures of liquid and solid substances. The production of powder is achieved by drying the slurry using heated air. The slurry is introduced into a hot air stream through a rotating wheel or nozzle atomizer. Both methods produce granular products, with the atomizing disk providing a wide particle size distribution. Each method allows for consistent control of particle size distribution in spray drying.
In the centrifugal spray drying process, operating conditions such as temperature, speed (if applicable), and pump pressure are closely monitored to ensure product quality consistency. Quality control during production can be tailored to each specific customer's requirements. However, we typically monitor particle size distribution, moisture content, and bulk density.
We are capable of preparing slurry on-site or we can accept pre-mixed tanker trucks. Specific ingredient details are charged for spray drying development tailored to each customer's individual requirements.
