Wireless technology reaches new heights

Industrial and warehouse environments are typically harsh, and the use of a large number of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®-enabled devices in a single area can affect performance and lead to downtime. Datalogic recommends using its proprietary narrowband wireless communication system - STAR Radio. Due to its non-interference with other networks, broader communication range, and full two-way capability, it ensures error-free operation. Unlike Bluetooth communication technology, which can connect up to 7 devices per base, STAR Radio technology doubles this number to 16 devices. Operators can freely move around a larger work area, scan items, input data from an integrated keyboard, and receive immediate feedback from the backend host on the bright OLED large display.

Support for future interface expansion

The PowerScan 9600 features all configuration features related to Datalogic industrial scanners, with the addition of embedded industrial interface connections, making it easy to connect with PCs, industrial PCs, tablets, or PLCs. The communication module on the base is replaceable, and for the wired version of the scanner, it can be directly connected via cable. The plug-and-play functionality helps maintain network integrity and allows for easy configuration between RS-232, USB, USB-C, Ethernet, Ethernet/IP, or Profinet. Any future standard or network setting changes can be easily switched in minutes.
