Polyurea Waterproof Coating Physical and Chemical Properties
Excellent water resistance, seamless overall structure, dense tissue, durable, and strong adhesion — truly "skin-like" waterproofing. Polyurea can be used for both positive-side and negative-side waterproofing.
Polyurea waterproof coatings can be used for long periods at temperatures ranging from -45℃ to 120℃, with heat resistance up to 160℃ (able to withstand short-term thermal shocks at 160℃).
Excellent weather and aging resistance. Although aromatic polyurethane may turn yellow under UV radiation, it does not powder or crack, making it suitable for long-term use. It is also resistant to freeze-thaw cycles, cold and heat shock, as well as alternating impacts from wind, rain, snow, and frost.
Exceptional physical properties. Polyurea exhibits notable characteristics such as high tensile strength, tear resistance, impact strength, adhesion, elongation, wear resistance, puncture resistance, crush resistance, abrasion resistance, and anti-slip properties. Additionally, it boasts excellent resistance to concrete cracking, protective properties against concrete cracking, and reinforcing capabilities for weakened concrete structures.
Excellent corrosion resistance. Polyurea can withstand long-term immersion in most corrosive media such as acids, bases, salts, seawater, and chloride ions.
Process technology
Polyurea has high reactivity and rapid curing speed, allowing for continuous spraying on vertical, overhead, and any curved surfaces without sagging.
Polyurea waterproof coatings require no catalyst, gel in 5-20 seconds, reach walking strength in 10 minutes, can be applied continuously, with no limit to the thickness of a single application, and offer a short construction cycle and high efficiency. Detailed node construction is convenient, and no fiber reinforcement layer is needed.
Polyurea coatings offer strong adhesion to both metallic and non-metallic substrates, including steel, aluminum, reinforced concrete, wood, fiberglass, and polyurethane foam. The bonding strength of polyurea elastomers to concrete is ≥5MPa (exceeding the bonding strength between concrete).
Polyurea coating has low sensitivity to temperature and humidity, allowing for minimal impact from environmental conditions during application. It can be applied over damp substrates with primers.
Polyurea waterproof coating is applied using a complete set of equipment, ensuring high production efficiency. With the Graco-Gusmer H-35PRO equipment, up to 2000 square meters of a 1mm thick coating can be applied per shift. The coating surface is smooth and seamless. Adjusting process parameters can also yield a "rough" surface or apply sanding to increase the adhesion to the asphalt concrete substrate.
Polyurea waterproof coatings can be customized with various pigments and fillers to create coatings of different colors and functions, boasting excellent surface decorative properties.
