An infrared curing paint booth is a type of spray and bake paint booth that fully utilizes an infrared heating device as the infrared heating medium.
Infrared curing paint booths can be categorized by temperature into low-temperature, medium-temperature, and high-temperature models; by infrared heating elements into tubular and plate types; and by infrared characteristics into standard infrared electric heating tubes or plates, carbon infrared electric heating tubes or plates. Infrared curing paint booths primarily make full use of the characteristics of infrared radiation, which includes reflectivity, penetrability, and resonance. Due to the superior reflectivity of infrared radiation, it can be reflected anywhere within the space, ensuring that the drying object is continuously exposed to infrared radiation. The penetrability of infrared radiation effectively permeates through the paint layer, allowing for gradual drying from the inside out. Additionally, the resonance property effectively resonates and rubs against the molecules of the object being cured, enhancing both the drying temperature and the curing cycle, thereby achieving rapid drying.
Standard infrared electric heating tubes or plates use metal as the heating medium, with an electrical to thermal conversion efficiency of around 70% and an infrared radiation conversion efficiency of about 40%. The intensity of infrared wavelength radiation is relatively low. Most metal heating elements in standard infrared electric heating tubes or plates are exposed to air. Over time, these elements gradually oxidize, leading to increased resistance and power decay, resulting in longer heating times for the room and a worsening paint curing effect.
