With the expansion of the construction industry, high-rise buildings are becoming more common, and various reinforcement methods are used in the construction projects that follow. Among them, steel plate reinforcement is a widely used method, which involves the use of steel plate adhesive material in practice. What are the details to be aware of when using it?
1. Cleaning and reinforcing the surface is a top priority and a must-have step. It requires sanding to remove the protective layer and apply a fresh coat. Use an air compressor or other cleaning tools to blow off the dust. Then, wipe it down again; if it's quite humid, you can also dry it using an artificial heating method.
2. Next, the steel plate needs to be thoroughly cleaned. There are several methods to do so. You can use sandblasting or a wire brush for abrasion, ensuring the polishing direction aligns with the steel. Continue polishing until the entire plate exhibits a metallic luster.
3. Then, extract the materials in the corresponding proportions. Generally, the ratio of Material A to Material B is controlled at 3:1. After thorough mixing of the two materials, they are applied to the steel plate surface. The thickness is maintained under 3mm, ensuring a thicker center and thinner sides.
4. After applying the steel plate, gently tap the surface of the adhesive connection with a hammer to check for hollow sounds. If there's no sound, it indicates a tight seal; if there is, it suggests the holes may be larger and the adhesion might be poor. In this case, remove the steel plate, apply more adhesive, and reattach it.
